Mayhem 2026

 Playing catch up as usual. . . 

Kendal had her BPA banquet on the 11th. She was recognized for her accomplishments this year in. 

Decided to give Alice a good hair chop. It ended up being a good four + inches off. We also got crafty one evening. 

Alice had a field trip to Ritter Island on the 12th. She had a great time that day on her field trip! Alice also had an activity day's activity on the 15th at Sister Newman's. 

Pete got to celebrate a couple of friends that week. First he went to the Hunts house on the 13th to celebrate Ryder's one yr of growth! On the 15th he got to go to Austins for a birthday party and Movie night. He's got a great group of friends and I'm so grateful for the great young men they are!

Last week of school:

We went to the Senior parade Monday night. Saw a few kids we know well, a ton of kids Casey taught, and the rest we waved to and the kids eagerly accepted candy from. 

Alice was awarded her Honor's reader medal at the awards assembly on Tuesday. Casey went over during his prep so he could see her get it! It was such a big accomplishment and she's spent months working on this! So proud of her dedication to do it! 

P.S. Casey and I voted that day. Bond and Levy failed, but it is what it is. 

That night was the Track banquet. Kendal was recognized for her hard work and good attitude this year in track. It honestly wasn't a year of growth or results for her, but she worked hard and persevered through it all. (Same with her cousin David who's had health challenges that have affected his running this year.)

Casey had his annual field day on Wednesday and the Corn hole tournament with his 7th grade students! 

Thursday was the awards assembly in the morning at the middle school. Pete was given recognition for being apart of the SOS team and he got a medal for getting all A's this year!! (He worked extra hard to keep his grades at A's this year - even though it took a lot of nagging from his mom ; ) - he truly put in the effort and made it happen and we're proud of him for reaching this goal! After the assembly was yearbook signing and the carnival. Pete had to help with different activities for the first half. I helped with the ice cream truck for a while and Casey was on dunk tank duty. 

Last day of school was the 22nd. Poor Kendal's last week of school was tests, projects, and presentations so she had a lame week caped off with a final presentation and opportunity to fix a test she already aced. Kendal got all A's this year as well. She holds herself to this amazing standard year after year and we're proud of all of the hard work she puts in. She had a handful of duel credit classes this year on top of her honors class. Great work Kendal!! Both Kendal and Alice got student recognition awards. Kendal got student of the year in her Computer class, and Alice got student of the month in recognition for her hard work. Alice had a field day at school on Friday and Pete ditched swim day to be with friends. A migraine cut his morning short with them, but he rallied and was able to go with Alice to the Hunts house for an end of year party! 

The day after school got out we headed up to Boise for State Track. Pete qualified in all of his individual events and was able to triple jump, and run the mile and 800. Pete got a PR in the Triple Jump and placed sixth overall at State! He was just shy of a PR in the mile, but put in the extra effort and got a PR in his 800 race! He got to run his races with his best friend and hang out with cousins that were also up to run! It was a hot day, but a good day all around. 

The Dansie's invited us on an adventure on Memorial day to Pillar Falls. I honestly forgot the hike and remembered when we got there how it's a zig zag from the top of the canyon to the bottom and back up. Oy! We made it down and then played around on the rocks and a bit in the water. Pete was the most adventurous climbing rocks and exploring with Austin. On the way up Pete and Kendal pretty much ran it with their crew, Alice slowly made her way up, but wasn't happy about it, and I was huffing and puffing so bad at a few spots I had to stop and take a break. Luckily the guy who owns the land and goes up and down with his side by side all day saw us and took pity by giving us a ride the last 3rd of the climb. I was beet red for a while and ended up getting an inhaler from Walmart after to try and breath normally again. That evening we met up at the Bergs and had a cookout, talked, and played around. 

While school may have been out for the kids I had plenty of work at the Library this last week. I had worked all day the last day of school on most of the computers and finished up on Monday (both times staying till about 5:30 to finish the computers). The rest of the week Casey helped me finish up Library inventory, and other things from my long to do list. I'm so grateful for his willingness to do so, or I'd still be working this week. Casey also started open gyms last week and has tournaments throughout June. The kids were left "to do" lists all week and were so good to get them done, and deal without Mom and Dad being around for a few days. 

Alice had her first Track meet this year last Wednesday. She did Hurdles, the long jump, the 100 and 200 meter dash. She did well in the hurdles and surprised us with a good placement in the 200 meter dash! Her last meet is this week, but unfortunately I double booked her and she has swim that night too, so we'll miss one or two events for swim. 

I got a call from Maggie / my Dad this past Friday about when we could come down to Utah while she was still there. Honestly our plans or in flux this Summer and we don't have immediate plans to visit, so I gathered the kids and we made a last minute trip down to Utah for a couple of days. The kids got cousin time with David's kids and Alice got some quality time with Maggie Saturday afternoon. We took the kids to the arcade at the new fun center in Hyde Park for a bit that day, and had Chick Fill A and more cousin time that evening. Casey was happy to stay home and work on the yard like planned, get in some chill time, catch up on a few movies, and teach his class on Sunday. 

Alice started swim lessons today and they'll continue this week. Casey and Pete are off to DC on Wednesday!!
