Pete turns 11!

A late birthday post for our Favorite son!

Pete turned 11 this past week! We celebrated a bit early having his cake and ice cream Monday night before Casey and Kendal went off to girls camp for the week. He also didn't mind that he got cake every day following that for most of the week.

Pete has grown a lot this year. He can still be a silly / stubborn thing, but he's lost his short fuse and maturing in many ways. He's still loud and a typical tween, but he's growing. Pete was praised all year at school by teachers and staff for his positive attitude, his willingness to help out, and his kindness towards others.  He truly has a big heart and cares for others. Peter did well in his sports this year, each season brought growth and success as he worked hard. It's hard to believe Pete is done with elementary school and now he's off to middle school. Pete is a quick learner in many things, physically (and when he wants, in school). Pete is a leader, (it can come across as bossy with his sisters) but he is confident, he has a can do, and will do attitude that is so fun to see bloom.

For Pete's birthday he got to open presents in the morning. He got a swimsuit and deck of cards to play war with at his will, and a new compound bow. He's been wanting this bow for awhile. It's really nice and like Casey's so he's thrilled. We played outside with his bows for a bit and hung out that morning. After lunch we went to the library kids event.  Pete didn't care much about the activity he was more interested in the treat and new books.  After that we headed into town.  We stopped in at toy Town and Pete picked out a new logic puzzle with his birthday money from Grandma and Grandpa Loosle. Then we went to the mall to play on the arcade area for awhile. Alice and Pete had a lot of fun with the different games. Their favorite were the driving ones. We had sonic for dinner and came home and played the wii before bed.

Happy belated birthday Pete! Here's to a year of growth, and so things good to come your way. We love you bud!

Tracking our June

While Casey was gone to a basketball tournament in Pocatello the kids and I helped clean the church on the 3rd. Afterwards we went over to the Western days celebration in the park. We walked around a bit and I got the kids some ice cream. We made our way to Home Depot so I could get paint samples for the front door and the kids could do the craft.

We've been waiting for better weather to paint the front door. We were undecided between blue and gray. None of the blues we tried out seemed right so we went with a rich gray. I did the door on the 5th while Casey was out of town for a school conference.  My roller was having issues so my paint job was harder than needs be, but it's done and looks good! The kids had track practice that afternoon. Alice played rock families with James during Pete's part.

Kendal and Peter did a Basketball camp through the high school from the 5th  to the 7th. They had fun and both got recognition for good sportsmanship!

A group of my friends surprised planned a lunch on my birthday. We went to south town Market and I got to catch up with my 6th ward buddies that I miss dearly. Casey came home from Boise that afternoon, but had to go to Basketball practice. So the kids and I had an easy dinner with ice cream after.

The 7th was Alice and Pete's last day of track. Alice got first place in hurdles. She took 3rd in her 50 meter dash, and 4th in long jump! Peter took 1st in both his hurdles and the 400 meter run! He was middle of the pack for shot put and just above middle for long jump. Both kids put in good work this season and were proud of their efforts and glad they had fun!

We've had Kendal and Peter running and doing a bit with weights this summer. Keeps them active and hopefully builds them up leading into cross country season.

Nicole, Jordan, and their crew came up on the 9th for the weekend to help us put in our sprinkler system. Jordan and his dad mapped everything out and gathered all of the supplies for us. We got to work early Saturday and put in a long 14 + hour day to get the pipes, sprinklers, and system in. We dug around 35 homes in the yard and worked all day to get a much as we could done. Brett came and helped us out all day and we even had Kenny around for a few hours. The kids watched a lot of tv and played the day away! We ended up finishing Sunday morning. I gave a talk in church and by the time we got home Nicole and Jordan had filled in our last hole. We've still got a bit of tweaking, but it is an amazing step towards our yard going in!

We left for Logan Monday morning to see family, and so Casey could help David with his foundation. We got in a visit with Nana Monday after lunch and played at the park with Billie and her kids after. We all got together for pizza that night at my parents. Tuesday Pete went out to play with the boys in Smithfield so the girls and I went with Billie and her kids to pick up crafts at hobby lobby and get our craft on in my patents backyard. Alice and Maggie were two cute peas in a pod all afternoon. Wednesday we went out to the Fat Boy factory for some treats after lunch. Anica and the boys joined us there. We got rained our before to long and the rain continued so we couldn't do a hot dog roast we had planned. We ended up getting chick fill a for dinner and then headed over to Elliots baseball game. Thursday Casey worked in the morning and then we had to head home. Kendal had her only June piano lesson that afternoon.

Casey had a basketball tournament in mountain home Friday and Saturday. We had Jemma over for most of the day Friday to play while her brothers were at a baseball tournament.  She and Alice were in heaven playing together. Kendal also had her orthodontist appointment and got good news that she should be done with braces before the year is up!

We got a full bedframe from Nana's when she moved and finally got a mattress for it for an early b day present for Pete. He's loving the extra space and the new cozy mattress!

Saturday I took the kids to Raft River for the Brown family reunion. The kids eagerly ran off to get in the slides while I helped set up lunch. The day wasn't very warm but that didn't deter the kids at all. Brett and Vanessa came along and the kids got to slide with them for a couple of hours. We made it back home a bit before Casey. I got to ditch everyone that night for a girls night out at dinner and bowling.

We had a nice Father's day. We showered Casey with some gifts and the kids got to put on a scavenger hunt for his present from my parents. We went to church and had an easygoing day together. Casey is such a fantastic Dad. He does so much for so many. Our kids adore him and love him so very much! We are blessed with the best!

Casey and Kendal went off to girls camp early this morning and are gone till Friday. Casey got roped in as priesthood representation and kendal is happy to have him this week! I took Alice and Pete to the pool today. We didn't last long because it was only 62 today and the wind made things chilly.

Catching up on all of the Mayhem!

Kendal had her district meet on the 9th of May. She took third in her triple jump and tied her PR in the 80 and mile!

Alice had a game on the 10th. She was a bit scattered, but had her good moments. Her team won their game!

Pete played against Filer on the 11th. It was an intense game and the kids played so hard. They ended up short losing 0-1, but we were so proud of their hustle and drive!

Mother's day weekend was very nice. Casey took me to the temple and out to lunch afterwards on Saturday. Sunday was spent going to church and finishing with a relaxing day spent with my loves! (Alice did a song and cheer for me Sunday morning!)

The next week was the bookfair at Stricker. It was such a busy week and I was putting in a lot of extra time since Camille's mom's health was going down, and she was gone for a couple of days. My parents came up for the Grandparents day picnic on the 15th! They were able to stay for a few days and see Pete's performance, and the kids' soccer games. We loved having them around for the week!

Pete had his fifth grade music performance on the 17th. His class gave the music teacher a bit of grief but ended up giving a nice performance. Peter did a duet with Clover for one of the songs. I was super proud of him. Mrs. Howell praised Pete and has loved his attitude and help this year.

Pete's last game was on the 17th. They played against a Kimberly team and won 3 to 1! Pete had a goal assist and played a great game! His team came in first for the season!

Kendal finished her toolbox in AG. She was so proud of her welding job. It turned out great!

Alice's last game was on the 20th. She got to have all of her Grandparents there to see her play! Alice scored a goal and was close to scoring a couple of other goals, her team had a great game, but came up short loosing 4 to 7. Alice's coach treated the team to root beer floats. Really we were so grateful for her willingness to heard all of our little's for a month.

Pete got to go to Craters of the Moon with his class on the 22nd. They got to explore all of the places and went into the caves. His favorite part was the rock fields and of course being with friends!

I got to host book club on the 23rd. We read "The Keeper of Lost things". It was a good book with interesting little stories weaved throughout it. Casey took the kids to the senior parade that night.

Kendal and Casey had hobby day on the 24th. Kendal chose to go to the Roller rink and the movie's. She got to be with Netta for the day and had a fun time. Casey got assigned to go fishing. He initially didn't mind, but the bus ride with a bunch of crazy kids wasn't his favorite.

Alice and Pete had their first track meet on the 24th. The weather was iffy to begin with and just got worse. The little kids got most of their events done. Alice won in the long jump and got second in both her hurdles and 50 yrd dash. Peter's best was just over 15 feet in the shot put and he got second in his race. Unfortunately he didn't get to finish his last two events because of the storm.

Kendal had her AR party last Friday. The kids got to go to the ropes course at CSI in the morning and they ate at Pizza pie cafe afterwards.

Alice, Pete and I went down to Logan for memorial day weekend. We went down on Friday afternoon after school. We went to the Clarkston cemetery Saturday morning before having lunch and spending the afternoon with cousins. We even got in some four wheeler fun in the afternoon. We had pizza for dinner out at David and Anica's and ended the evening with smores. Sunday we went to church with my parents and Katherine and then headed to visit the cemeteries in Logan and Hyrum. Monday we had an interesting memorial day where David decided to bully my dad into uprooting his whole back fence, and while I agreed it should be done, I don't think I realized what it would mean for our day. We ripped out a fence, the kids mostly helped (Alice mostly stole Grandpa's phone) we ate a delicious lunch, and ripped out more fence. (Heaven bless us and our crazy decisions!)

Casey and Kendal went up to State track (middle school) instead of going to Logan with us. Casey was over all the Kimberly middle school kids that went to the meet so he spent the day wandering the field from event to event. Kendal's event wasn't until mid afternoon. She didn't qualify this year for her events, however she chose to go with Casey since he already had to go and she ran the steeple chase. Kendal ended up coming in last. She struggled with the large hurdles and going through the water. She did her best and is determined to practice and do better next year! Sunday she and Casey dropped off flowers for me at the Twin Falls cemetery. They wandered around and found family graves. Monday Casey and Kendal got to have a more chill day. They ran errands and got to go see the new Guardians movie together!

Alice had her field Trip to First Fed park on Wednesday this past week. She had a fun time with her classmates and friends!

Wednesday morning Casey and Kendal (middle school) had a corn hole tournament at the city park in the morning and a dodgeball tournament in the afternoon; with an awards assembly after lunch. I got to go to Kendal's awards assembly. Kendal was given a leadership award for SOS. She got the silver medal for having Strait A's for her second year of middle school, and she received the George McAdams award which was so cool! (It's an award that has nothing to do with sports or academics it's based on the student's character, attitude, accountability, and so much more. I was proud of Kendal for being recognized for the amazing young woman she is becoming. Her friend Netta and cousin David were also recipients of the award!

Alice and Pete had their second track meet on Wednesday afternoon. Thankfully the weather held out this week and gave us a sunny meet. Alice did well in her hurdles, but missed the shot on her 50 meter dash so she watched the pack run off for a couple of seconds then she ran after them. She won in long jump again! Peter got to do all of his events. He didn't have a great day in shot put, but he did well in his hurdles and 800. He was fourth in long jump!

The last day of school Alice and Pete had a field day at school. I was caught up with Library stuff so I went and helped with Alice's class for an hour and a half. She went in for popsicles so I tracked down Petes class who was playing kick ball against another class from 5th grade. Kendal got to spend her last day at Nat-so-pa swimming with friends and classmates.

And. ..  a few bonus pictures

My whole family has mouths bigger than mine.

outside work, tons of random rain storms roll through this month. so lots of mud for little miss. Prepping the ground for sprinklers and more work this summer.
