Kendal's new cousin

This past weekend we headed up to Idaho to attend a family funeral. We are sadend by the passing of little Beckm Casey's cousins son. To our surprize Vanessa went into labor on satruday and Kendal's new cousin David John Darrington was born.

David (aka Buckaroo) was born on the thirteenth of february at 5:05 p.m. weighing in at 7 lb 8 oz, and streaching out to 19 inches long. He has such a sweet disposition about him, and takes after his dad with his long fingers and toes.

It was interesting to see Kendal and David next to each other, just three months ago Kendal was born at 7 lb 1 oz, and lost some weight going down to 6 pounds 8 ounces. So she was smaller than him for a bit. I love the fact that Kendal has a cousin so close in age.
Congratulations Brett and Vanessa, you two sure make one cute baby! We can't wait to come up again and see you all!

Sew Fun

So i'm weird in the fact that i think buying shoes for a baby is ridiculous. However i do love booties / slippers on babies. Thus I've made pink, red, and yellow booties for Kendal. Plus i have some wicked cute bear ones i bought, and a couple of shoes I've received. I decided lately that Kendal needs a neutral pair of booties that she could wear to church or other functions that minky booties don't work as well. So i pulled out my randomness of fabric and made her some church booties. As i was already in the sewing mode i made her some fabric rings and a cube toy. Note i am nowhere near as good as my mom at sewing, and the rings look odd as does the lumpy cube, but hey it was worth a shot.

Kendal is nearing her three month mark. Our little Sweet Pea is growing more each day, and we're loving her more and more each day. Last week we were able to witness her first giggles. It was precious, and i tried in vain to capture them on a video, but alas my daughter doesn't preform for the camera; she just stares at it with wide eyes. Kendal is slowly working on tummy time. She's always hated it, and usually screams bloody murder when i put her down, but we're working on it. She can hold her head up very well, and when in the right mood loves to babble and coo at us. Although feeding and her reflux still are a constant challenge i do my best to harbor patience when she howls through feedings, and love it when she stops crying and just sits there giving me smiles. Kendal still loves to kick and wiggle her legs. I think she takes after the Darringtons and will be a runner / track star. Whenever she's on her changing table she goes nuts kicking, and loves to look over at the wall where her loving family is smiling at her. We often go through everyone in those photos to show her who they are and that they love her.

We are looking forward to the upcoming arrival of the newest cousin / nephew in the family. Hope everyone is doing well, we love you all, and hope you have a wonderful Valentines day! Share your love with all around you!
