Our favorite son turned 14 yesterday! We are proud of the wonderful young man Pete is becoming. Last year he was Deacon's Quarm president. He did a wonderful job and serves and gives his whole heart in all that he does. Peter worked hard in school this year - He pulled out all A's and put in a lot of effort and extra work in school (he may have had a nagging Mom all year to keep him on track, but he's the one that put in the work and did so great!). Pete made great strides (literally) with his running this last year. He was a top finisher in cross country as well as track. He kept pushing himself and broke barriers and pr's in both sports. Peter continues to love Marvel and Star wars. He was on a Stranger things kick for a bit, and is now very into The Flash as well as the Hobbit which he read and is watching with Casey when they can fit it in. Pete loves video games and will play as much as he can (sneaks in some time when he thinks / knows we're unaware). He really wants Minecraft (which he loves and built an epic world in his coding class with Mrs. Dahlberg - she called him and Austin her favorite and best students this year), but also enjoys Fortnight and getting on with his friends. Pete has had a lot more friend time this year. He loves to hang out with his buddies and has been going to the Jae Foundation "It's cool to Care" events once a month with them. I'm grateful that he surrounds himself with a great group of boys and I know they're support and comrade is such a wonderful thing. Hard to believe this kid is taller than me and heading to high school this fall, but he keeps growing up and doing amazing things as he goes.
