Part one of our Mayhem!

Casey did some service with the Priest group on the fourth. They trimmed some tree's for a ward member.

Due to weather Kendal's last track meet was pushed from Tuesday to Thursday of the first week of May. She qualified to run in the mile and 800. Kendal ran her mile in 7:54! She beat her previous time by more than a minute!! She ran the 800 and had a person best of 3:31. We are so impressed with her drive and can't wait to see what she can do in the coming years! While at he meet Peter and Alice found friends / cousins to hang out with. It ended up windy and overcast so after Kendal was done I opted to take Alice and Peter home. The 6/7th boys and girls won districts for Kimberly!

Late Friday afternoon we headed down to Logan for the weekend. Saturday we took the kids to do the Home Depot craft and plant a flower from AEI. It wasn't very warm so we headed up to David and Anica's to quickly assemble and paint the projects on their garage benches. That afternoon we went and visited Nana. The kids enjoyed going through picture books and Peter got Nana to go on a walk with him. That evening we had pizza and did popcorn and pinacolada's after.

Sunday was Mother's day. We had a nice morning and then went to church. I got to go to Relief Society for the first time in . . . with Katherine and my Mom! We enjoyed a nice day with family and got to have a big group for dinner; including Nana! I'm so grateful for my Mom, her love, her care, and the amazing example she is to me. I have so many amazing women in my life and count myself truly blessed to have their love and light in my life. I'm grateful for my three miracles. Kendal, Peter, and Alice I love you all so very much and count my blessings every day that your mine!

This past week felt like a blur - It was book fair week, which added a lot more hours to my work week and a lot more chaos to my mind.

Peter had his music performance on Wednesday. He didn't tell me he was singing a solo and I go a nice surprise with that. He and his class did a wonderful job in all of their songs. It was a joy to watch him so into his songs!

Kendal got back to back field trips this past week. On Wednesday she went out to Hagerman to go fishing. She didn't end up catching anything, but enjoyed her day out anyway. Thursday she got to go out to City of Rocks! They got to explore around and listen to a presentation about the area and it's history from the park rangers.

Alice got to go to a birthday party for Ava this week. She got to go before preschool then they ate lunch together and rode to preschool together. She got a unicorn headband that she wore for two strait days after. Waterford called last week to give an update on her progress. Alice is 1/3 of the way through first grade reading and her math skills are into first grade as well. She was praised for her work ethic and how well she picks up new concepts and words.

Peter had his last two soccer games this week. His medal game was on Thursday against the other undefeated team. It was their toughest game and the wind was against them, but they came out on top winning 3 to 2! Saturday they played their last game of the spring season and won 4 to 1. Peter played forward and scored a goal in his last game! So Peter ended his season undefeated. His team truly did a great job this season. Peter's coach handed out awards after his game Thursday and he gave Peter the "Team Captain" award because he was a true leader to his team. He worked well with everyone, was a moral booster for all, and had a great attitude all season! Peter has really enjoyed soccer and we've seen him grow and do great things this season!

Friday night was the father and son camp out for the ward. Casey and Peter picked up some pizza and headed out to balance rock and the camp ground next to it. They set up camp and then Casey hung around the fire while Peter ran around with the other hooligans. His little gang was at "war" with another group from a different ward. Casey didn't know who won, but they all survived. In the morning they fished a bit and the kids played a while longer before they headed out. The girls and I went to chick fill a and then did a bit of shopping.

There was a community fair at the school yesterday. We headed over after Peter's soccer game. They had free hot dogs and fries and then a bunch of booths and activities for the kids to do. Alice liked the mini ax throwing station and Kendal and Peter got to bounce around in inflatable balls. We ended our sunny outing with some snow cones!

I stole Casey away for a date yesterday evening. We went and saw the new Dr. Strange movie and grabbed some Cup Bop on the way home. Today after church we went and walked down to Shoshone Falls with the kids. It's a beautiful day and I didn't want to waste the sunshine!

Sports / Darrington party

Kendal had a track meet in Declo on the 19th. She did 1:45 in the 400, 3:43 (a PR) in the 800, 20 ft in the Triple Jump, 6:33 in her 4x4 relay. It was a blustery afternoon and it was not very warm.

Kendal got to go swimming at Banbury for her YW activity on the 20th. She enjoyed going with her group!

The kids had school off on the 20th, however Casey and I were stuck in training's throughout the day. We came home during lunch, but had to spend our afternoon back in lectures. To thank the kids for such a long day we took them Bowling and then out to dinner at Pizza Pie cafe. The kids enjoyed bowling. Peter won among the kids and I beat out Casey for the win.

Saturday (23rd) Kendal and I headed to Declo for Volleyball. It was a crazy morning because our original schedule didn't need us there till 9:20, but we got a message at 7:30 saying we needed to be there at 8 instead (and it's a 45 min drive: O We made our way there, but my team was down to five girls for the day. Lighthouse lent us a girl for the first couple of games, then I stole away a couple of girls from our other Kimberly team, they finished our first games and started out with us against Filer before their team wanted them back. So we finished our games with just five girls on the court. We didn't win anything, but had few close games. Kenny, Cheryl, Cody, Mia, and their crew came to watch some of Kendal's games and give Kendal and I to Raft River since we hitched a ride to Declo in the first place (Casey's car shouldn't be on highways till it's fixed). Peter had a soccer game that morning in the blustery cold wind. His team won their game; he scored a goal then his coach pulled him back so they didn't get win by too much. After his game they came to Raft River to join the fun.

We had our first full (everyone made it) Darrington get together in a year and a half! The weather was come and go for Saturday so the kids were in and out of the house playing. Us adults got in a game night that evening while the kids watched a show downstairs. We all went to church Sunday morning. It was their ward conference so all of the kids got to stick together for an extended sharing time and Kendal and David stuck together with the youth. After lunch we had an Easter Egg hunt with everyone. Grandma D spoiled the kids with a lot of goodies. We played the afternoon away till near 6 when we went and took family pictures. The kids were a bit stir crazy at times, but overall did great. Afterwords we stopped quick at the California / Oregan trail thing then back to have a dinner and head home.

The 26th was a full day. Alice had a preschool field trip to the Herrit Center. The kids got a story time, scavenger hunt, and were able to see some creatures up close. My friend tells me Alice was a brave little lady and touched a bunch of their snakes. She came home happy with her trip! We then headed over to Kendal's at home track meet. I got there at the end of her Triple Jump; her best was 22.5 (a PR). Casey decided to have her run the mile seeing if she can qualify for this weeks district since she probably wouldn't in the 400. She ran an 8:59 mile. I had to leave to get Peter dinner and off to his activity days activity. Kendal did 3:53 in her 800 and 6:48 in her 4x4 while I was gone. Peter got to learn about flags for his activity and was able to retire some flags then had smores to end his activity.

I took Friday off this week since our sitter was out of town. Alice and I did join Camille at Barnes and Noble to buy some books ($1,000 worth) for the school since our book order has gotten delayed / messed up this spring. Alice went through a lot of books in our time there, but also accidentally knocked over a shelf of books. Peter got to spend the evening at a friends for dinner and was kind and helped them work on their yard.

Yesterday we had Peter's soccer game in the morning. His team won 5-1! Peter played different positions throughout the game and did a good job on the field. Kenny and Cheryl came up to watch Pete play! We went over to a surprise party for Brandon Dansie's 40th birthday. We had a simple lunch then the adults chatted while the kids played all around. Casey spent part of the morning and the rest of the afternoon trying to fix his car. He got the right part, but his car was stubborn and wouldn't come apart nicely for him to get the the part he needed to repair. He went to O'Riley's almost a dozen times throughout the day and ended the day pretty fed up with it because he had to give up and put the car back together without getting fixed. We'll probably wait till June to take it in when having 1 car is less of a hassle.

Casey and I have finally found land to build. My Dad / David have pushed for quite a while for us to build and a while I haven't want to push them here to build we decided the market was too crazy for us to buy so we might as well build. It took a while to find land as well. Prices and availability were our biggest issue. We finally found a guy who invests in land that was willing to sell us a lot. The lot isn't available till July so we hope to start building then. So many decisions and details are going on right now. We have yet to find a plan we're going with, but have a general idea on wants. So far our journey has not been smooth, we just hope building and getting into this home goes as well as possibly can.
