The first week of June Alice had swim lessons. She's in the 2nd advanced class and we hope to have her graduate from out before next summer so she can do swim team. Alice pushed herself and did a great job in her lessons. Learning new things, getting breathing down better, and improving her skills. We continued to take her this week to work on the things she learned. I took all the kids and Austin to the pool on Thursday and with Kendal's encouragement Alice swam half the pool so she could go on the blow up Lilly pad toys.
Alice also had track the first week of June. I didn't do well in scheduling and Alice had swim that evening. Because they events take so long the last meet since it's awards night and she is in the older group that goes last to Alice was only able to do the hurdles before we left. She took forth and was disappointed but not upset to miss the rest of the meet.
Kendal went to box canyon on a day hike with Alycin on the 2nd and has spent many days with friends this summer.
Pete and Casey went to DC as you'll read from a different post from the 3rd to the 7th.
Early on the 6th the girls and I went to a drawing for 100% attendance for Kendal to try and win a car. No luck, but a very sweet and deserving fellow Kimberly student won. We grabbed birthday doughnuts after. Casey had put together a scavenger hunt for my birthday that the girls and I did when we got home. Then I spent the day cooking and baking treats for teacher training. The Dansie's joined us girls for a birthday dinner.
This past week Kendal and Pete got in more running and friends time. All of the kids have lists of to do's this summer before they can watch tv, even though I've been lax a few times for the most part they're doing what they're asked very well.
Kendal and Pete went on a pre trek walk / devotional yesterday morning. They had a good time and ended at the temple and got to learn to a country dance.
Casey was in town all of Friday and Saturday at a basketball torment. Both jv and varsity didn't make it to the end, but the teams are looking good and working hard this summer! That Sunday for our "game time" we did a cornhole tournament in the backyard.
This last week we went to Utah for a few days. Kendal and Pete went running with the Cross X team Monday morning then we headed down to Utah. After lunch we got into the chaos of re-carpeting my parents bedroom. It was a lot of hard work that afternoon. Casey gave the most help, but Kendal and Pete were troopers to do what was asked as well. We met up with Billie and her kids that evening and played at the new Rush arcade. After the arcade we played at the park for an HR or so. Pete stayed overnight with the boys up in Smithfield. Tuesday we went back to Rush and the kids did the 3 hr pass with Maggie and Ben. They got to do the bumper cars, racing cars, mini golf, laser tag, climbing area / foam pit, and bowling. They filled the time and had a blast doing it. That night while Alice played with Maggie we went out to Smithfield to see Emmet and Elliot's baseball games. Wednesday hung around my parents house. We had Maggie over for the afternoon and then everyone came that evening to play and have a treat. Thursday the kids played with their cousins for most of the day. They made clay creations, played games, and shot bottle rockets. We left after dinner that night.
Casey had a basketball tournament in Marsh Valley so he was off early Friday for the weekend. The kids did their chores and played around that day. Kendal went out swimming with her friend Alycin while Pete, Alice and I watched a show that night. Sunday we got to celebrate Pete's birthday and Father's day! We bought Pete a bike for his birthday that he's been enjoying for a couple of weeks, and I got him some treats and hacky sacks to play with his friends. We made the boys biscuits and gravy and had an easy going morning before church. Later we went out to Raft River to spend the evening with Kenny and Cheryl. Brett and Vanessa were there with their kids. We had a good evening together to finish celebrating the boys!
