Logan (the good and the moldy end of July visit)

We came Sunday evening to start out our visit to Logan. Monday Casey went off to work with the boys. I took the kids out to see Nana for a bit. We also got to see Peggy and Nathan who were visiting. It was good to see them. Peggy was sweet and gave Kendal one of her bracelets. Nathan entertained the kids and made them cup helicopters. Grandpa used his genius to push the kids around that afternoon.

Tuesday was Pioneer day! Kendal and Peter got to start their day out riding four wheelers at the shop. We went to the Logan city parade this year. It was hot, but the kids didn't mind. After the parade we went over to the kids area of willow park. The kids got to do the craft center that I helped with during the summers I worked for parks and rec programs. They made snakes, and popsicle holders. The kids also got tattoos and colored pictures. Finally they got to run after candy from the candy cannon.

Later that day we went out to David and Anica's. The kids played on a water slide and in the sand. We had a yummy dinner and Alice probably ate her weight in watermelon.

Wednesday we got to have Elliot over to play for a while and went out to chick fill a together for lunch. We watched The greatest Showman that afternoon while Alice napped.
Thursday we took lunch out to the boys. The kids got to ride in the backhoe and Peter stayed a bit  to work (aka hit rocks and ride the backhoe). Us girls  went to Nana's. Unfortunately she was out do we did some cleaning.
Later that afternoon we headed to Preston. We met up with David and Anica to do rides at the fair grounds. The kids got to ride the teacups, a couple of coasters, cars, a giant slide, the carousel, and flying dragons! Peter was over the moon having fun, Kendal enjoyed everything, and surprisingly Alice had fun and even waved to people most of the train ride. After the carnival we went to watch the parade. The kids got loads of Candy and uncle David helped get the rest. For dinner we stopped at Big J's in Richmond.

Friday we took another try and went to see Nana. We stayed to play a few hours. The kids played away their time and we got and great quality time with Nana!

Unfortunately Friday afternoon and most of Saturday were spent dealing with mimo issues in the basement. I felt awful for the mess, but grateful it's been caught and is being dealt with. Life - not always easy or smooth, but we can do hard things. It will be fixed, and all  will be ok. (I promise!)

While Alice napped Saturday i took the Kendal and Peter to the splash pad for fun. They hit it off with other kids and ran around paying together and having a grand time.

We're grateful for pout visits to Logan. We're spoiled by Auntie K, Grandma, Grandpa, and Nana.  Always good times and sweet memories made. (The good and the moldy ; )

Mid July

We had a couple of weeks at home in the middle of July. On Monday the ninth we took the kids for snow cones that they'd earned. We pulled out the pool for a couple of days both weeks home for the kids to enjoy / make mud messes with also. We took the kids to Culvers one night for dinner. They'd earned kids meals as a library reading reward. A sweet lady stopped and said how wonderful our kids were and it was so nice to see such behaved kids. (It's sweet till you read later in this post how they behaved another time eating out. Can't win em all I guess.) Casey and Brett took the kids fishing Thursday. Neither kids caught a fish (patience is low with kids), but Casey got a few! The end of the week was Kimberly Good Neighbor Days. Friday night we went to the community dinner at the park. The next morning Kendal and Casey ran in the race. Kendal was courageous and tried out the mile. She was happy she tried it and had fun doing it. Casey did the 5k and did well despite his lack of training. We went to the parade later that morning. The kids had fun getting candy with cousins. After the parade the kids went on the water slides at the park and we walked around the booths for a bit.

We started off our second week by going to Roaring Springs in Boise. Kendal and Peter earned passes through their reading program at school and we went and redeemed them. The kids loved everything and had such a fun time. Alice would've walked around in the green tube all day long if we had let her. Peter liked the slides, lazy river, and the tide pool. Kendal couldn't pick a favorite so I'll say she enjoyed it all. She wanted to go on the slides a lot though ; ). We ended by going to a new pizza place in Boise (kind of our pre anniversary dinner). (It's our goal to try new places every year and do something we've never done before so monday checked those off our lists.)

Tuesday we got to see Grandma and Grandpa Darrington along with a handful of cousins and family for Grandma's birthday. Grandma picked the Golden Coral and we had our fill of food and sweets (Kendal was caught dipping and eating mallows into the chocolate fountain, and peter snuck out gummies in his silverware cover. Oy who raised these kids. ) Later us ladies went to Sarah's baby shower. She's having a girl mid August and we're all so excited to add another little lady to the bunch.
Wednesday I took the kids to the Twin library because they've all earned their summer reading reward. They got food coupons, trinkets, and a new book each as their reward! The kids got to do science activities at the kids library hour. They dug for dinos, experimented with bubbles, and excavated chocolate chips out of cookes. Alice and Peter had their check ups that afternoon. Peter is healthy and growing. We're keeping an eye on him with possible sleep walking and anxiety as school starts, but other than that he's a typical little boy. Alice was only due a shot. (I'll post stats on their birthday and half birthday posts.) We ended the day with a delicious dinner made by Casey! I love you hon, Thanks for twelve great years!!
Saturday Casey helped Terry build a bench for his porch. He also helped a family in our ward move a couple of days in a row (pretty special guy I've got : ) Saturday evening was our Stake Pioneer celebration. I got roped into helping with the pie booth for over an hour and the kids played and Alice may or may not have gotten lost a couple of times during my absence. Hundreds of people and a curious toddler will do that.

Here's some sweet random pictures from those two weeks.
