Fun times!

Last week at library story time the kids got to do dry ice bubbles. They enjoyed themselves and had fun watching the bubbles explode and let out the"mist ". They also earned their library summer reading reward so we got to eat at Culvers the following day for lunch.
We pulled out the pool for a couple of days to escape the heat.

Thursday we went out to Raft River to spend the night. We made Mom and Dad D a pre birthday dinner. Casey took the kids for a drive Friday morning, they didn't find Grandpa, however there's never a shortage of cows to find.

After lunch we headed out. We stopped at the rocket displays at ATK. Casey took the kids around and told them about the rocket parts. Peter was funny, whenever we asked him to stand next to one of the big rockets for a picture he'd run away saying it was blasting off. It was cool to see it all!

Following ATK we headed over to promontory point. Casey and the kids had never been. We've spent years saying we should go, but never actually did; so with the day being ours to play with we went. The kids thought the trains were cool. Their favorite parts were seeing the big trains and earning junior ranger badges.

We made our way to West Valley to stay the night. We chose the hotel because it had a really cool water park in it. We went both Friday night and Saturday after breakfast to enjoy the fun! Alice and I opted out of swimming Saturday because she wasn't an big fan the night before.

We met up with David, Anica, and Elliot to eat and go to the Tree house museum in Ogden. The kids had so much fun. We covered it all, dress up, music, pretend play, making puppets, climbing around in the tree, etc. Kendal loved making her puppet and she got to participate in a puppet play! Peter exploited all over, but his favorites were the pretend play (he was a doctor, cowboy, policeman, fireman, and President all in one day). He also loved building and spent a good twenty minutes building with Lincoln logs.

We got to finish off Saturday by seeing Campbell get baptised! The kids had been so excited to see Campbell get baptised and it made Kendal even more excited for her own at the end of the year. It was special evening and we're so proud of him!

We may have skipped around quite a bit over the weekend, but we did whatever we wanted and most of all we made some wonderful memories!

Alice is six months!

Alice is six months old!
Alice takes after big sister and as become quite the chatter box. She likes to babble and make noises. She even has a girly tone to some of what she says.
Alice has tried a handful of foods this past month. (cereals, bananas, applesauce, squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, and pears, with a few samplings from mom and dad's plates.) So far she likes them all and her appetite seems to be growing because when she's in the mood she'll eat quite a bit and get upset when were done feeding her. She also seems to be weaning herself because she's less content nursing these days. She likes to chew on everything. If she can grab it, it goes in her mouth.
She's done some more rolling this month both ways. Some days quite a bit, some days not so much. She likes to push her body off of the floor also. So between that and rolling she can move around when she's on the ground, and makes it all around her crib.
She's still not sleeping through the night. I just don't have the heart / nerve to make her cry it out yet. So I feed her early in the morning and she sleeps another stretch in our room because big brother and sister don't know how to be quiet in the mornings to let her sleep in. (She does sleep two really good streatches though 10 - 11 hours combined with a short feeding in there.)
Alice will happily smile, talk to, and go to most people; although it's all about Mama when she's tired or hungry. Kendal and Peter still sMother her to pieces. I appreciate their adoration; however they can be a bit much sometimes. Alice doesn't seem to mind. She takes it in stride and Peter is usually the one to get the most giggles out of her. She's generally a content / happy baby. She still tends to get fussy at night though. Her bright little eyes are finishing turning brown, and her hair is finally yet slowly starting to regrow!
These past six months have flown by. I'm trying my best to savor things about Alice and her milestones because she's our last. I love her chunky legs, her sweet babbles, her giggles, the way she smiles and lights up when people talk to her.
Happy six months Sweetheart!

At sux months Alice is 16 lb 10 oz (58%) and 26 in. tall (either she's lost height in the last two months, or as usual they didn't measure her right at her last appointment : /

Fourth and Logan visit

Last Sunday we went down to Logan to visit for the week and celebrate the Fourth with family.
Monday morning the kids made cookies with Grandma and Aunt Katherine. Quite the mess, but usually more mess equals more memories. Katherine took them on the bus to the grocery store so they could get frosting to decorate the cookies. Monday evening we headed out to watch the fireworks. Peter and Elliot found a lot of dirt to play in while we played crowns. Billie and Eric took the kids over to the fun stuff at Lee's. When they came back the kids had gotten glow toys and downing popcorn. We pulled out glow sticks and did sparklers as well. Alice sat nicely for the first bit of fireworks then fell asleep. Peter was more interested in popcorn than fireworks. Kendal liked running around with Emma, snacking, and lounging around with everyone watching fireworks.

Tuesday morning I drew some chalk art for the kids. They happily played around the house. We had David, Anica, Elliot, Nana, Billie, Eric, their kids, Tony, and Lisa over to eat a Fourth of July picnic. The kids played the afternoon away. David and Casey went and saw Guardians of the Galaxy. The rest of us stayed back and the kids watched Curious George for some down time. That night we had our own little fireworks show in front of the house.

Wednesday morning the kids played around the house in the morning. After lunch we joined Anica and Elliot at a splash pad in Smithfield. The kids had a slow start liking the park, but after they warmed up they had a great time getting wet and playing together. We took a break out of the heat at Anica's house where the kids played for a bit.

Thursday we played away the morning at my parents. Peter loved the electric car Grandpa has at the house and rode in it whenever he had the chance. We took lunch out to Nana and the boys (they were working in the subdivision next to Nana's). We got to spend the rest of the day at Nana's. Billie was there with Tate, Ben, and Maggie. Kendal and Tate played a bunch of games (pollyanna, battleship, and clue). Peter and Ben played with each other doing blocks and playing zelda. Maggie was exploring and Alice did her thing.

Friday morning Katherine took Peter to Cars 3 as his belated birthday gift. Mom, Kendal, Alice, and I ran a couple of errands and played Clue back at my parents. That afternoon the boys got off of work and all of us (minus my dad who had a much deserved rest) went to the pool. Alice lasted just a bit before she came out of the water for a nap (Thanks mom for watching her.) Kendal and Peter went on the slides a few times. We had fun playing around and enjoying the water on a hot day.

Saturday morning Kendal and Peter got to go down to the shop and ride the four wheeler a bit. We spent our afternoon playing at my parents with a break for ice cream in the middle of it all. We ended our stay with running in the rain and some yummy dutch oven potatoes. Casey worked with Dad and David all week, and the kids happily played all week! Till next time Logan!
