Marching on

Pete had basketball the last three Saturday's. He played well on the 25th, but his team came up short of a win. On the 4th Pete had a good game. He played hard and his team came out with a win! Their win made them tie for 3rd place in the rankings for their tournament on the 11th. Peter played his first tournament game at 9 on Saturday. It was against a team they've beat both times they played. Unfortunately Pete's team played a sloppy game, and the other team was on point giving Pete's team a loss and their tournament play ended there. Pete grew in many ways this season and had a lot of opportunities to learn and gain experience this season. He and Alice will start soccer in a couple of weeks.

Kendal has been weight lifting with the high school track kids, and got to start doing practices with them this last week. Brett Welch is the head coach so Netta has pulled Kendal into most of this, but she likes going and seeing how she can get better with weights / lifting. She's babysat the Stevenson's a couple of times and is gaining confidence as a babysitter. She got to teach young women's a couple of weeks ago, and go to the temple a couple of Saturday's ago with the youth.

Alice continues to be my sidekick after school working on the house. She plays around for awhile and then I typically relent and let her watch Bluey for a little bit before I drop her off to siblings. She got a rare play date with Ava a couple of weeks ago when the cabinet guys were at the house and I didn't work at the house that day.

As with most weeks these past 5 months our house consumes our day's and any time we can give. We spent the week of Feb 20th putting our flooring down. We had that Monday off of school so the kids helped us in the morning. Kendal was the most helpful and we brought her back after lunch for a bit to put down more flooring. Our week seemed to be a two steps forward one step back kind of experience with the flooring, and our knuckles, knees, and patience were spent at the end of the week. This next week was packed. We got our cabinets, bathroom shower / vanity, and our plumbing done! It was so exciting to see more things come together. Alice and I painted her room on Monday the 27th, she was so happy to paint her room pink and was loving painting with me. We made many mistakes, that Casey had to clean up later, but her joy outweighed the extra work. We had the 3rd off of school so I helped Pete paint his room that morning, and Kendal paint her room that evening. They both did well and love their paint color choices. Casey finished the outside (minus our rock) on the 4th. This past week we've done odds and ends around the house. I painted the laundry area, cleaned up so carpet can go in this week. Our hope to move in during spring break will not happen, but we'll do our best to bust out everything we can in the next couple of weeks!

Since Peter had his tournament this past weekend Casey stayed home with him while I took the girls down to Logan for Elliot's baptism. We had a snow squall on Friday so I waited it out a bit, but still ended up driving down to Logan in some dreary weather and very iffy roads. We got treated to pina colada's and popcorn by Grandma and Grandpa and watched Moana since Grandma and Grandpa just got back from Hawaii. Casey and Pete got some supplies from home depot Friday, ate at Cup Bop, and watched Ant Man that night. Saturday we got to go see Elliot baptized! He was beaming from ear to ear and we were so proud of him! Kendal got to play the piano for the baptism. We had a luncheon at David's house. Saturday afternoon the girls and I visited Nana and hung out at Grandma and Grandpa's. The girls got to play with cousins after dinner. Casey and Pete had a basketball Saturday morning and spent the afternoon doing returns and trying to start work on our built in's. They got to watch Ant Man 2 that night. The girls and I stayed for Sunday. We went to church and stayed through a late lunch and time with cousins before we headed home. The boys went to church, made treats, and played games for their Sunday.

Last and best of all!! Goodbye to the beard. Casey is very handsome with a beard, but I'd pick a fresh face hands down!
