October so far

I must be busy, pregnant, lazy, or a combo of them all because my postings aren't very frequent. So here is our October so far.
My parents and sister came up conference weekend to visit with us. We had a relaxing couple of days around the house, listening to conference, eating too many treats, and enjoying company.
We had a good week or so of warm weather. The kids pulled out the croquet set and built different courses for us to do one Sunday afternoon.
Basketball starts for Casey and Kendal this next month. Kendal often asks for practice so Casey took the kids to practice basketball and play at the playground. Peter had his first solo trip across the big monkey bars at the school that afternoon!
We were on a hunt a couple of weeks ago for a new dresser for the kids. Our adventures took us to downtown where they were holding October fest. We walked around a bit, enjoyed the sites and music, and the kids got to ride a little train.
I've been sewing A LOT this past month and a half with Vanessa to get wedding skirts, dresses, and bow ties done. Plus doing decor projects for the wedding reception. Since I'm on a productive kick the kids have been itching for me to make and put together their Halloween costumes as well. Peter has chosen to be Peter Pan and the minute I finished his costume he's found countless opportunities to wear it, and even slept in it one night. After many options and a lot of thought Kendal decided to be a unicorn. It's turned into a flying unicorn with magical powers (aka added wings and she gets to carry a wand since Peter Pan "flies" and gets a sword).

Our ward had a family home evening hay ride on the tenth. We got to enjoy some doughnuts and hot chocolate as we rode with some other ward members on hay bails on a open bed semi near the mountains. It was a bumpy ride for this pregnant lady, but scenery was beautiful and we all enjoyed the fun.

Last week we had a lot of rain. When there was an afternoon break from the rain on Saturday we took advantage to go out and enjoy the fall scenery. We went for a walk at rock creek park. We enjoyed the colorful tree's and some Frisbee golf. Kendal ended up using one Frisbee as a holder for a leaf collection.

Kendal's top teeth have been wiggly for a while, and she's been working on one fairly regularly lately. The kids had their dentist appointment this week so I threatened Kendal that we'd let the dentist pull it out. She came home from school with her tooth barely hanging on and with an easy pull while eating her snack got her tooth out before her appointment. Her new tooth is already poking out the gums so I'm grateful it's out and I'm more grateful we didn't' have to go through a load of drama to get it out.
Casey ended his football season on Tuesday. His team ended up with 3 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. The kids and I only made it to the one game; I blame weather and a painful pregnancy on not going. He gets a brief few days off. Yay!?! Monday he'll start open gyms for basketball and his season / tryouts start on Halloween. We signed Kendal up for basketball a couple of weeks ago. She's super excited. Her practices start in November and she'll have about four games this next month.
Tuesday night the kids and I went to the school for a family night. They were promoting their kids works program. During recess this school year they've had aids out teaching the kids games that involve, get them active, and problem solve. The family night was to show us what they've learned and teach the families the new games. It was a very chilly night, but fun to watch the kids enjoy themselves.
We've got just under three months till our little lady gets here. I'm not in any rush (even though Kendal and Peter are) and we've got plenty to fill our time (Cody's wedding, Halloween, basketball for Kendal, Kendal's birthday, Thanksgiving, Casey's birthday, Christmas holidays, all surrounded by Casey's basketball season. So we'll try to keep up with our to do's and let little sister cook and make mommy suffer a while longer.
Some more pictures just because (My first every homemade apple pie (Casey's never been a pie lover so I've never made one, he told me this one was good though ; ) (Peter volunteering and doing the dishes, the kids have had added chores to this year and Peter thought he could do this one as well, made me proud and nervous all at the same time. : )
