Finishing cross country, cousin time!

Kendal and Pete had a cross country meet in Buhl on October 3rd. Kendal got a pr with a time of 12:41, taking 16th place! Peter ran the course in 11:02 and took 13th! He got aPR as well. (Both got PR's, first because they did so well, second because it was a longer distance then their usual races so most other times don't match this distance.)

I couldn't make it to the race because I was in charge of Activity Days. (We made caramel apples,  Alice was in candy heaven!)

I decided I wanted another tree in our backyard and Casey was awesome enough to indulge me in my dreams! Trees were half off, and there weren't many options left so we got a little shorty that's the same as our other maple tree! So we have Sunny and little Ray in our backyard now (They're pacific sunset maple trees!)!

(Alice was worried about the little tree on a windy day this week, and just had to go and hold it up for a few minutes till I called her back in.)

Casey had to take off the 5th and 6th at work to do online trainings for PBIS. We had a cold go through the house at the beginning of the month. Casey, Alice and I got hit the hardest. Kendal only had a sore throat and Pete didn't get sick at all. Casey went out to Raft River with the kids on the 7th to help patch his parents roof. I stayed home feeling crummy and tried to catch up on some studying. Casey made it back in time to take Pete over to Keegan's game at the high school and to do Alice and Kendal off with me so Alice could have Jemma time!

Kendal and Pete had their last meet at the Gooding golf course this past Tuesday. Kendal came in with a time of 14:48. She was 36th out of 103 runners. Pete came in at 12:59, taking 40th out of 117 runners. It was the longest distance they ran all year! It's so hard to tell how they ended their season because the courses were so varied and the last two meets were a longer distances than the rest of the races. This was kendal's last middle school meet! She's worked so hard this year and we're so proud of her improvements and dedication! Pete took to cross county really well, were excited to see him grow and flourish in the coming years!

Kendal ended cross country and the very next day she went right into basketball tryouts. She will be on the white team this season and is excited / nervous to begin!

The kids had no school in the 13th so they got to sleep in and have a chill morning at home. I worked half a day, and Casey worked a full day at school. That night Casey took Kendal and Peter to the football game. They worked the concession stand that night. Casey started in concessions and went up to the box at the Beginning of the game.

Saturday we has visitors! Anica, David, and came up to spend some time with us. After lunch we went out to Tubbs Berry farm. We did all the things! Duck races, giant slides, tractor ride, paintball mania, playing in the dirt / hay/ corn,  bounce area, mini golf, picking pumpkins, and best of all the straw maze. David had the boys in one group, and Casey and I took the girls in another. Emmet just wanted to play on the corn and sand pits outside the maze.  For the Tubbs corn maze they give you a punch card. So along with finding your way out of the maze you have to find hidden punches. If you get all the punches punched you earn a free popcorn! This was the kids' #1 agenda and they all successfully finished! After Tubbs we had homemade pizza and the kids played games large into the night. Sunday morning we had more cousin time before church. David and crew went exploring at Dirkies while we were at church. We had a bit more play time before they left in the afternoon.

Homecoming / Cross X

We had homecoming the week of the 18th to the 22nd. Alice had picked her outfits, colored pictures, and laid them out days before. Monday for Alice was Super Hero day! It was tourist / cozy traveler for the middle school. Tuesday was cowboy day for Alice. The middle school was Barbie vs. Oppenheimer. Wednesday was color day for Alice her grade wore orange. The middle school was favorite athlete / sport day. Thursday was sports day for Alice. It was color day for the middle school. Kendal wore neon, Peter wore black, and Casey wore wight, I wore all three and then put on a Utah State shirt for Stricker. Friday was school spirit day for everyone.  It rained all that morning, but let up enough that they kept the schedule for the parade at noon. Alice went with her class and happily came to school later with a bag of treats. Casey kept kids off the road, and I stayed on the hill / hauled in arms full of forgotten items afterwards. I was grateful for Friday, because I'd spent the whole week doing a costume change half way through the day when I had to switch schools. Kendal and Pete didn't give much effort into dress up week so most of my pictures are of Alice / Casey and I.

Missed pictures of Thursday. . .

Friday: Finally got Kendal and Pete to participate in pictures with us!

Kendal and Pete had a meet at home on Thursday of Homecoming week. They did a good job on their run! Casey and I didn't get to follow them throughout the course because we were at the finish line counting kids on the recording device. Kendal took 37th place out of 80, with a time of 13:26.  Peter took 33rd place out of 89 runners with a time of 11:33.

Alice and I went apple picking Saturday morning (23rd). Kendal stayed home to do homework, and Casey was touching up my walls from the kids abuse these past six months. (p.s. we've been in our house six month!!) That afternoon Casey was stuck at football games all afternoon while I canned apple sauce.  That night Kendal went off to watch a movie at Hope's house and we had a chill night at home.

Kendal found out Monday that she made executive leadership at school She is the secretary for her 8th grade class and the school! The kids' Cross Country meet was on Tuesday this past week. It was at four so Casey made it also! Kendal pushed through a side ache but had a decent run. Peter had a stomach ache, but pushed through in his run. Peter took 35th place out of 79 kids with a time 11:46.  Kendal came in 31st place out of 74 with a time of 13:25.

(The kid in orange is a Darrington from declo. He and Pete have finished almost every race together, neck and neck.)

Casey and I stole away for a short date night on Friday. It's been awhile since we went out. We found a Mexican restaurant we've never been to and made a nice romantic trip around the grocery store before heading home. Casey watched a movie with the kids while I studied.

Peter went to the haunted swamp with his buddies last night. They've been concocting this plan for a week or so and Gage pretty much told his mom of these epic plans expecting them to magically happen. Tina and Jade were good sports and hauled the boys to the swamp so they could get their scare on. Pete came home with all the stories and said he was only scared a couple of times ; ).

We've had a cozy couple of days watching conference at home. The kids have done a lot of art and lego's. Casey did a puzzle as well. So many good messages this fall. I loved the messages that told us to have a more eternal / celestial view of life and then live with that mindset in our lives. (Alice made her own "music" and lip-synced to the choir.

Our grass is coming in, and were hoping for some more growth this month before things freeze and stop for the winter season.
