c - crazy days

Our school days are similar as always. The kids go to school, Peter's in reading group a couple of days a week till the end of this week, piano, homework, and play when they can. Plus Jemma now and then.

The last Saturday in February we decided to take a walk around Dirkies. The previous sunny Saturday tricked us into thinking it'd be a perfect adventure; however our day was overcast. Thankfully, with jackets and hats and minding the mud it was a good outing as a family. Alice commented almost the whole walk "That's a wock" "There's anoder wock, that's three woks"
"That's dirt" "That's mud" etc. Kendal and Peter wanted to climb random rocks and get their pictures taken. The kids did great and Alice walked the whole thing (Which is good because we're headed to Arches next week).

I have a couple of ward friends (Whitney and Kate) that we've been swapping babysitting so the others can go to the Temple. With the exception of this last week we've been unlucky in getting into the session, and just ended up doing initiatories. The first week in March we took the week off and had a lunch date together for Kate's birthday. We took our girlies to Five Guys burgers and enjoyed a long lunch together.
The first Wednesday of March the kids got to have a combined primary activity. They got to play dodge ball against each other! (I think the girls won ; ) They both came home with pine wood derby kits that they're excited to make and race!
Casey had parent teacher conferences that week so the kids had Friday off of school. Casey planned to head up to State Basketball, so I decided to take the kids down to Logan. We headed out after school on Thursday. Friday the kids got to ride on four wheeler's down at Grandpa's shop! They had a blast in the mud, Alice and Issac were having so much fun with Grandpa in the backhoe.
The next day we got to celebrate Elliot's birthday early. We picked up our Home Depot kits to build at Grandma and Grandpa's house (Thank you c-virus). The kids enjoyed putting them together. Alice is gaining skills with the hammer : ). After lunch we went to the Fun park. The kids played Arcade games and picked some prizes afterwards. Then we went bowling together! It was fun having Campbell able to be there as well! That evening we went up to David and Anica's for dinner and continued birthday fun! Since I had to teach Sunday we headed home that evening. It was short, but good weekend!

Casey got to go up to State basketball with his Dad. They left Friday and spent a couple of days watching Kimberly and other schools play. They stayed with Casey's Aunt Stacy. Thanks Stacy! Kimberly made it to the finals on Saturday. They ended up with second, but it was a great fight till the end!

We were in charge of the Darrington dinner last Sunday. We made pork and chicken tacos. The kids happily played around. Casey and Jordan cut down a dead tree, and another tree that keeps hindering their septic system.
This past week has been a week of sickies. Casey ended up taking two days off of work because he felt so miserable. Alice and Kendal ended up with it towards the end of the week and I topped off the weekend feeling crappy. Not a memorable, or nice week by any means, but sometimes it's just that way.
We did celebrate pi day yesterday! Casey and Peter made an awesome coconut cream pie, and Casey made pizza pie for dinner. (He's been my hero all weekend - you're the best hon!) Simple yet fun traditions! We had a couple of cooped up days at home and the kids were definitely feeling it yesterday. So much energy and chaos, but such is life.

Tomorrow the kids are out of school while the teachers and school district figure things out. With Corona virus continuing to reek havoc in the world things are uncertain and crazy. Casey and I can't remember a time like this in all of our lives with what's going on plus closures (sports, schools, businesses, etc.) It's easy to get swept up in the fear of everything, but with a bit of planning and faith I'm feeling ok. I know how devastating this is and might continue to be, with economic effects we can't yet measure, but my faith is in my Father in Heaven at this time, and I know through him all will be made well. I'm so grateful for a prophet that is leading and guiding us in these days. It was such a special experience to hold sacrament meeting at home and have Casey prepare, bless, and minister the sacrament to our little family today . We had a few simple messages from the lesson this week and did a singing time video with the kids. This will be such a unique memory for us and the kids.
