Little boy

I put off giving Peter hair cuts because little boys can have longer hair, Pete doesn't care, and he looks cute. Once I give him a hair cut I feel like I'm taking my baby boy away and he's moving towards being just a little boy. Peter's personality is growing each day. He's mischievous, naughty, happy, silly, and funny.

Pictures above: left, is his new smile (looks evil, yet it's funny), right is with his hair freshly chopped.

left pic.: Pete likes to sit way to close to the TV, he often has a blanket around him too.
right pic.: Daddy is helping both kids fly. Casey is home more now that basketball is done, these two crave Daddy time and sometimes smother him with love when he comes home.

Contagious

I wish I were writing about how contagious my kids laughs are or how contagious a smile is but I'm not.
I felt sick for a few days over the weekend. Peter had a cough, and wasn't sleeping well. Kendal seemed fine, but wasn't eating well. When Monday rolled around and our symptoms were only getting worse I knew I needed to take us in to see the doctor. Early Tuesday morning we went in. I had a bad case of Strep throat, Kendal had enough symptoms and had been around me so they put both of us on Antibiotics. Peter was diagnosed with an ear infection and acute bronchitis. Kendal was convinced that I would take her to preschool after the doctor, but we were highly contagious so we trudged to the grocery store, got or medicine and some food and came home to our confinement. I definitely don't want Casey getting this so I have done a lot of cleaning, 11 hours of laundry (every blanket / linen / etc.), and disinfecting of every toy and surface we share in this house. Fingers crossed Casey continues to escape this horribleness. It's been a rough week with a  very grumpy Pete, a restless Kendal, and an ooky feeling Mama. Thankfully with the help of our meds no one is contagious anymore.
I know this isn't the most positive thing to write about, but this is apart of life.
In an odd / funny coincidence Casey talked about the Black Plague in school this week. The words black plague I feel completely sum up how I've felt this week.

Happy Valentines tomorrow. Here's hoping that your day is happy, and the love you share is contagious.

Let it snow

The Stakes in and around Twin Falls were asked to fast for moisture. Last week prayers were definitely answered because we got dumped on. Rain, Snow, Hail, we had it all. As long as I wasn't out running errands in it I was fine. Kimberly does not snow plow their roads so on the really snowy days it was horrible to drive in. Thankfully snow melts pretty fast around here. (We had 8 + inches on Friday, and a muddy lawn on Sunday). Since the snow doesn't stick around Casey took the kids out on Saturday to enjoy the melting snow. They helped the neighbors with some snowmen and enjoyed Daddy time. They came in and cuddled with Daddy after. It's nice having Casey around a bit more since he's done with coaching.

Yep Peter is wearing Kendal's boots in this picture. Way to big, but he loves wearing shoes. He tromps / trips around the room in them.

Casey ended his season this past week. His C-Team (aka Freshman) won the conference; and the JV team that he assists coaching won the conference. Varsity still has district games this week and potentially state at the end of the month. Casey is free from practice duty but he still has to attend games and take stats for the Varsity games.
The kids did well at games this year. As long as snacks held out Pete stayed by me. Peter only tested his boundaries the last few games when he thought it would be funny to run away, try to get to Dad, or grab basketballs. Kendal likes to go around, but stays within site because she knows she might loose privileges. She also chats it up with anyone around us. Especially if they have food or games on their phones / tablets.
