End of June

The kids had their last two track meets in June on the 20th, and 27th. On the 20th Kendal ran her best hurdles of the season. Peter ran his best 50 meter dash of the season that day as well! Grandma, Grandpa, and Katherine came up to support and cheer on the kids on the 27th. Their last meet was medal and ribbon day. Kendal had a personal best in her 400 and got fourth. She got third in hurdles, and second in shot put. Peter had a personal best in his long jump, got fourth in his 50 meter and second in hurdles. The kids enjoyed track this year and are already anticipating next year. The biggest lesson we want the kids to learn with sports is to try. Will they always win, be the best, or shine; maybe, maybe not. But they better try; give what they've got and know we're so proud of their hard work and efforts!

The morning of the 20th we joined up with Kendal's besties at the twin falls library for their summer program. The kids played games and played around, then we ate the lunch in the park together.

This year we decided to start a tradition for birthdays that the kids get one big gift and one experience (meaning outing or party) Peter set his heart on a bow and arrows for his birthday and was thrilled to get them that morning. Grandma and Grandpa D gave him a much desired electronic monkey, and some cash he's saving for Legos. Grandma L made Peter a giant monkey pillow that he's loved a lot and they gave him some Legos also that he built right away. We spent the morning learning and shooting arrows in the back yard. Peter was s fast learner and shared his new present so everyone got a try. Grandma even won a hundred bucks by hitting the target on her first try! We decided to have cake and ice cream after lunch. Peter chose a smore cake with Ninjago Legos on it! He's really into the ninjago cartoon and now has most of the Lego characters. Later Peter chose mini golf and eating out as his experience. Peter loved golfing and finished ahead of us all. Grandpa got Alice duty as she stole balls and carried her club around. The rest of us did our best and enjoyed the fun course. Peter chose Pizza Pie Cafe for dinner.

Friday we took everyone to Cauldron Linn to see the great waterfall. It was full and roaring! The kids enjoyed the walk and we kept a firm grasp on Alice! We got to spend a few days of quality time with my parents and Katherine. We took it easy, went out a few times and even fixed a broken garage door. Can't escape work right dad ; ).
