Finishing out our Mayhem!

Kendal had her AR reward field trip on the 17th. The middle school kids got to go to Wahoo's in Boise. It's a fun event center with mini golf, go carts, arcades, etc. She said she spent as much time on the bus that day as she did playing at Wahoo's but it was still a great day!

Kendal had her piano recital on the 20th. Even with taking a month off from lessons she worked on her pieces and did well in her Recital.

Peter had a Activity day's activity on the 21st. The boys learned about starting camp fires. Mostly Peter came home obsessed with pocket knives, but he had fun building fires as well.

Alice and Peter started track practice on the 23rd. Alice is so hyped about Track, she talks about how she's waited years for this and now it's finally here! The kids had practice on Monday and Wednesday last week to learn new things and get some practice in. Alice's group is mostly a show to watch with cute little's toddling / running / skipping down the track. Alice even went around hurdles instead of over them her first day. Peter decided to try multiple things out. He wants to do shot put this year so that's been a focus at his practices.

Peter got to go on a field Trip to Boise on the 26th. Normally the 4th graders go to the state capital. Since covid they still aren't doing tours so the kids went to the old State Penitentiary and the Botanical gardens. Peter says it was a long day on the bus, but he had a good time.

Also on the 26th Alice had her preschool graduation with Mrs. Tysha and her buddies. The kids were so cute to recite the pledge and do some songs for us. Alice said she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up. She's really loved her buddies and preschool this year. It's helped her gain some independence from Mom and some great social and classroom skills going into kindergarten. She was pretty disappointed that Kindergarten didn't start the very next day. She's just so ready to go to school, and waiting is hard; )

Casey took Kendal up to Boise (Yes more Boise trips!) this past Saturday for a track invitational. It's pretty much State track for kids who qualified. Kendal was able to go and participate in the Triple Jump. Casey had been practicing with Kendal during the week leading up to it and her hard work helped because she PR'd by a foot and got a medal! They stuck around and watched David and some other Kimberly kids compete in their events.

After church on Sunday we headed out to Raft River. Our objective was to redo Kenny and Cheryl's kitchen and bathroom floors. We had limited time and help so we got to work that afternoon. Everyone worked so hard and by the end of the evening they had 3/4 of the kitchen done. We lost half of the crew, but the rest of us stayed overnight and finished the kitchen on Monday. We would've dove into the bathrooms, but we were missing a few supplies to dig into that, so it'll be finished sometime this summer. I also redid the picture wall with the new family pictures.

Peter got to go to Nat-so-pa for his AR party yesterday. It was overcast and windy, but the kids still had a great time! Peter said he was only cold eating his lunch and if the slide line was too long. He had a great time with his buddies and came home wiped out!

Today was the kids' first track meet. Alice does mini hurdles, 50 meter dash, and long jump. While her running skills are still sporadic she did ok, and her long jump was impressive. Peter came home from school feeling miserable (Migraine and stomach ache). I stuffed him with pepto bismal, tylenal, and a ton of Gatorade. He chose to do Shot Put, Hurdles, Long Jump, and the 200. He said he felt better a bit into things, but I could tell he still wasn't himself. He took 3rd in shot put, 6th in Long Jump, 4th in Hurdles, and 5th in the 200. I'm sure next week will be better for both kids with another practice on Monday.

We rushed home after track and Alice had a virtual graduation for her upstart Waterford program. This program has been a huge blessing and help to Alice this year. Everything it has taught her and helped her learn is amazing. The skills she's gained, and the knowledge just cannot be compared! We are proud of her hard work and pushing through the harder days when she wasn't enjoying being timed and repeating things for the . . . time. She's finishing this school year at a first grade level in math, science, and reading! We are so proud of this smart cookie!

Work is wrapping up for Casey and I. I've had inventory in the Library and scanned thousands of books this past week as well as tracked down missing books. Camille was gone last Friday so I took over for her in the awards assembly. I'm not meant for public speaking, but it's fun to give out awards for the kids' hard work. I'll spend this week processing new books and finish next Monday. I'm looking forward a relaxed schedule this summer. Casey started basketball practice today and will be gone to tournaments 3 out of the next 4 weekends. He'll be on his DC trip the other weekend. Casey is finishing out his school year loosing more of his 7th grade team members (That's all but 1 gone in the last couple of years). Change is never easy, and he's loosing some great coworkers / friends. He will no longer be head of the PBIS team, but still be a part of it.

Few extra pictures (Teaching the kids BANG!, Alice - our little sou chef, silly girly, and puzzles with Garret at Sadie's).
