End of School

It was a nice day with good wind last Friday so the kids and I headed over to the middle school field to fly kites. Casey joined us a bit later when he finished work.

Last Saturday we went into Twin for a few errands. One of our errands took us to toy town. They were having a sidewalk sale so we scored a couple more kites for a dollar for our collection. To take a break from shopping we headed over to CSI to go on their walking path and disc golf course.

Monday we went into the cemeteries in Twin. Brett, Vanessa and their trio joined us to hunt for some Egbert and Webb relations. We found all but one person we were looking for. We even met some distant Webb cousins. Afterwards we ate hot dogs that the local Lion's club was giving out.

Thursday was Kendal's last day of school this year! They had all of the Kindergartners come in the morning for a field day. Peter and I joined as "helpers". The kids were divided into groups that went around to fifteen field activities. They did relay races, activities, and general p.e. games. Kendal was thrilled to have Afton (her church buddy who's been in morning kindergarten) in our group. They were together for most relays and had a blast playing. After the activities we had a picnic lunch. Kendal buddied up with her classmate / church buddy Rylee to eat. We even had Rylee over later that day for a play date.

Friday we met up with cousins at First Federal Park around lunch. Unfortunately the splash pad was busted, but the soccer field sprinklers were on so the kids still got wet. We had lunch together and then the kids let loose and played for a few hours together on the playground. So much fun when we're all together! Can't wait to camp and have all of the cousins together in a couple of weeks.

This morning we went into Twin for the Western Day's parade. The kids enjoyed the horses, cool cars and trucks, and especially the abundant candy being thrown their way. The sun was out in full force the last couple of days so we're making sure our afternoon is relaxing at home.

Casey had his Eighth grade ceremonies Thursday and since his room is pretty much packed up he went with the school to Nat-Soo-Pah (hot springs) on Friday. He had a few nights of open gyms for basketball this week and he'll have some more in coming weeks. He's ready for a much deserved summer break and we're all ready and excited for family time! Casey will have work on Monday then we head out to start our California / Disney vacation!!!

Kendal has been so excited to finish Kindergarten and move onto first grade. She did great this year and has grown a lot. She got a little emotional saying goodbye to her teacher and realizing she wouldn't see buddies for a while, but overall she's happy to go to first grade.
